Shooting process
In fact, throughout the filming process of the entire movie, David Yates demonstrated his ability to control the大局 and his special understanding of this globally popular magical story in the selection of actors and mastery of their performances.
Humbly drawing on the strengths of many predecessors and also daring to innovate, he has developed his own new methods. For instance, during the scene where Hermione lures Umbridge into the Forbidden Forest and she is subdued, David fully engaged the actors' subjective initiative, allowing the lead Emma Watson to deliver an exceptionally brilliant performance.
During the shooting of this scene, it is necessary to include shots of the character riding the "Night骐," a mysterious creature. The director and crew created a special saddle for the actor to ride, which was then lifted to a height in the air by a crane, performing the effect of flight in front of a huge green screen.
set design
In terms of set design, director David Yates, with the help of numerous designers, has created a setting for the film's major scenes—the Ministry of Magic—that is truly resplendent and majestic: the floor is a dark, mirror-like surface, the ceiling is peacock blue, and there are areas with glittering, ever-changing golden symbols, making it exceptionally splendid.
The Magic Brothers Fountain in the center of the hall is the emblem of the Ministry of Magic, consisting of a group of life-size pure gold statues. The tallest is the dignified male wizard, beside whom is the enchantingly beautiful female witch. Goblins, elves, and centaurs gaze at the two wizards with admiration and reverence. The entire scene is so well-crafted that even J.K. Rowling, the original author, clapped in admiration.
Box office results
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" grossed a stunning $44.8 million on its North American opening day, setting a new record for the highest opening day box office for a Wednesday release in North America. The previous record for the highest opening day box office on a Wednesday was held by "Spider-Man 2," which grossed $40.4 million in 2004.
Additionally, the special screening of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" launched at midnight in a few American cities on the 10th has accumulated a total of $12 million. On the day of its premiere, the film accumulated nearly $60 million in box office revenue.
As of October 15, 2007, after 14 weeks in theaters, the total box office for the film "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" in the UK had already exceeded $100 million, with a global box office outside of North America reaching $645.2 million.
Film review
Although it may not have reached the heights of the previous "Harry Potter" film series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" is also a film that is entertaining and full of action scenes, capturing the dark mood of the novel.
The narrative of this movie is often disjointed; the special effects scenes about witchcraft do not bring about the true "cinematic magic." There are many pyrotechnic effects in this film, with people zooming around, but the mid-section of the narrative seems stuck in a nightmarish gear.
The joy that the "Harry Potter" series brought us, if I may put it this way, where has all the magic gone?
Each play is accompanied by an emotional collision, and the "Harry Potter" series has become a mainstream film that metaphorically represents the crisis of adolescence, just like "Rebel Without a Cause."
Audience evaluation
The story is told in a disordered manner.
The emotional scenes are perfunctory.
Lack of imagination in stunts
