backstage trivia
The male lead, Daniel Radcliffe, experienced a sudden change in voice halfway through the second episode, which was later resolved through some technical processing, avoiding the need for a complete re-dubbing.
Most of the indoor scenes in the film were shot in a studio converted from a disused airport on the outskirts of London. It is said that there are a total of 22 studios inside the secretive hangar, and the "Harry Potter" production team rented out 17 of them.
To shoot the scene of Ron and Potter rushing to the magic school in their flying car, the crew used a total of 14 identical vintage cars to accommodate the shooting from different angles.
To highlight Professor Lockhart's vanity, director Columbus and author Rowling, after consulting together, personally designed various costumes for the character, featuring silk attire as the main element, with luxurious and vibrant colors that also exude a worldly and ostentatious air.
The moving portraits that appear in the corridors of Hogwarts student dormitories are said to be painted using the crew members on the spot as models, including stagehands, lighting technicians, makeup artists, and so on.
Hugh Grant was originally cast as Lockhart, but later withdrew due to scheduling conflicts, and Alan Cumming was also considered for the role of Lockhart.
Although Christian Kursen was already 23 years old, which exceeded the audition age range for Tom Riddle's role (15-17 years old), he ultimately managed to take on the part successfully.
The blue Ford Anglia in the film is exactly the same as the car J.K. Rowling rode in during her school days as a child.
Due to scheduling conflicts, John Williams was unable to complete the full score for the film. Later, William Ross took on the adaptation of Williams' work and conducted the symphony orchestra during the recording sessions.
The actor who played Albus Dumbledore, Richard Harris, passed away a few weeks before the film's release.

Creative background
The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by J.K. Rowling, published in 1998. The novel "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" topped the bestseller lists of The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and the Whitaker Book Survey in the UK.
Adding "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" has been deeply loved by movie fans and readers, the success of the first movie at the box office prompted the idea of remaking "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" into a film.
pre-shooting period
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets began filming on November 19, 2001, just three days after the premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
For most directors, post-production of a film can be exhausting, but Chris Columbus had to supervise the editing of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" while preparing for the filming of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Although the two films were close in time, the crew believed that the sequel should seek common ground while preserving differences from the original, thus making the sequel's structure, characters, and tone unique.
New character in the film
In "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," a brand new character appears—the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Gilderoy Lockhart. Lockhart is fond of showing off, more precisely, he is vain, conceited, and extremely narcissistic, making him a character with a rich role in the story. Kenneth Branagh, who plays him, is a versatile talent, having been an actor, screenwriter, and director all at once.
Lucius Malfoy is another crucial new character in the film, and he is the father of Draco Malfoy. Jason Isaacs, who plays him, has starred in "Black Hawk Down," "The Patriot," and "A World Without Love."
